The weather in Raleigh, the capital of North Carolina in August, is an alternative change between the summertime high temperature and heavy rains. Around this special season, the Chinese American Economic Cultural Association (CAECA) is preparing to hold the first exhibition of Chinese culture and arts exhibition which will be co-organized by Beijing Art Resources Co., Ltd. and Beijing Antique Company in October 2018. This exhibition is a major achievement to display the strategic partnership reached in June 2017 between the CAECA and Beijing Art Resources Co., Ltd.
On March 11, 2017, upon the invitation of the CAECA, President Wei Chen of Beijing Foreign Economic & Trade Holding Group Co. Ltd, President Xiaorui Yang, General Manager Weidong Shi, and Deputy General Manager Qilong Wei of Beijing Art Resources Co., Ltd. led a group of delegates visited the Research Triangle Area in North Carolina, reached a cooperation intention with the CAECA, and discussed over an agreement for signing a strategic cooperation partnership in the near future.
On June 16, 2017, President of the CAECA Board John Wei, Vice President of the CAECA Tony Lin, Vice President of CAECA Steve Niu, President of the CAECA Liqing Huang, and other CAECA members arrived in Beijing to sign “The Strategic Cooperation Partnership Agreement” with Beijing Art Resources Co., Ltd. and then visited the company’s “Maolong Art Museum.” At the signing ceremony for this agreement, CAECA Board President, Mr. John Wei, and General Manager of Beijing Art Resources Co., Ltd. Mr. Weidong Shi, delivered speeches respectively to express their expectations and prospects for future co-operations.
Because of the cooperation and negotiation in October 2017 between the CAECA and Beijing Art Resources Co., Ltd. & Beijing Antique Company which is affiliated with the Beijing Cultural Relics Bureau, an agreement was reached to jointly organize a Chinese culture and arts exhibition with a special theme of “Discovering the Middle Kingdom—a Chinese arts and crafts exhibition in North Carolina” to be held in the Triangle Area in October 2018. For the preparation of this special exhibition, Beijing Art Resources Co., Ltd. dispatched its Deputy General Managers Qilong Wei and Ying Wang, and Beijing Antique Company dispatched its Deputy General Manager Tianshu Feng, as a preparation team. They arrived in Raleigh, the capital of North Carolina in March 2018, in order to start the preparatory work for this exhibition.
Under the guidance of CAECA Board President John Wei and CAECA President Meng Li, CAECA Vice President Tony Lin and Board member John Chen actively cooperated with the team to find an exhibition venue. After a six-month searching, The Convention Center in Raleigh, the capital of North Carolina, was selected from eleven venue candidates as the best location for this upcoming special exhibition.
Congressman David Price, who has always been in a good relationship with the CAECA, met members of the team. He praises the efforts of the CAECA for organizing this event, encourages the CAECA members to do a good job for it, and expects the event to be a great success.
It is reported that this special exhibition will be held on October 26-28, 2018 for a total length of three days. The exhibition will display the most well-known and treasured Chinese classic collections, including jade utensils, cloisonné, carved lacquer wares, porcelains, silk costumes with embroidered designs, filigree inlaid gold and silver ornaments, headdresses and jewelry, special silk products, capital embroidery, and others. At the same time, lectures will offered and other cultural activities will be held to promote public awareness among North Carolina residents to appreciate the traditional arts.
